You can easily tell a food is good or not by the kind of “secret” recipes used in the preparation of the food.

Same way goes to knowing a good niche market and we are going to see the ingredients in a little bit.

This post is the continuation of the Start Here affiliate marketing course.



Let’s get right into it:

  1. Audience has passion or problem present.
  2. Audience is willing to spend money to solve their problems.
  3. Niche has affiliate products to promote.
  4. Niche has competition – that is a good sign.
  5. Some knowledge about the niche – you do not need to be a pro though.
  6. Good online business model you can emulate.

  1. Audience with Passion or Problem.

I can easily divide the heading into 2 sentences which  gives 2 different type of niches that are good for affiliate marketing.

  1. Niches where audience have passion or are passionate about something or habit and they derive great pleasure doing it. Most times, what you are targeting is their hobby. (Examples are sport, travel).
  2. Niches where audience have problems and need solutions to that problem urgently. Such problem has examples like health issues, fitness issues, something that make them unhappy or something that they wish they have – Money issues.

When you have an audience or a group of people who have serious problem or issue desperate for a solution and if you can provide a solution to them they will literally buy anything you sell to them.

More reason why niche such as health, embarrassing problems, dating and money making online are so lucrative and evergreen.

Willingness to Spend Money.

There are plenty of niches out there that are not profitable.

These are niches people are not willing to spend money on even when in is a topic that picks their interest.

Not all popular niches are profitable and I will give some examples.

Luxury Niches – Popular but people hardly buy online.

An example is luxury wrist watches.

Not that people do not spend money at all in this niche but most people in this niche prefer to check out the prices online before they go to the local store to purchase.

Fashion Niches

People want to try clothes on to see if they fit.

You can argue about this niche all you want personally, I won’t unless I am a big fashion house with a lot of reputation.

Discount/Free gifts

Well, most of the people in this niche want to save more money and not interested in spending money.

If I do something like CPA Marketing then this niche will definitely work for me but not for affiliate marketing.

Niche has affiliate products to promote.

It is a great sign if your affiliate marketing niche has affiliate products you can promote.


  1. Willingness to Spend Money

There is no point in targeting an audience that is not willing to spend money.

If your audience is an audience that is looking for free information then that niche is not adviced.

Such niches such as game hacks, free codes will not work for affiliate marketing.


  1. Niche has affiliate products to promote.

Knowing there are affiliate products to promote in a niche is a good sign.

I mean, why would you want to go do a niche there is no product to promote?

We are talking about affiliate marketing here and nothing else.

If you are thinking of creating you own product for a niche, that is good.

However, if you be making money straight away without doing something much.

So, how do you find affiliate products to promote?

I will cover this in future posts, however, I will give you an insight on how to get affiliate products for your niche faster.

  1. Knowledge about the niche

I am wondering how you want to succeed in a niche when you have absolutely no idea about what you are trying to do.

I get it, you can freelance articles and every content on your niche site BUT

Hey, it is not a good idea if you do not have any knowledge about the niche you are trying to make money from.

Having a good grab of a niche will give you the ability to increase your earnings, see which content your audience want and the one they do not want.

You will be able to segment you audience and target which them based on interest.

  1. Good online model you can emulate

Knowing you have competitors in a niche is a good sign to be profitable in a niche.

It gives you the idea of the top competitors you can model after.

You can spy on them, do exactly what they do.

You can also copy them and make yours better.

See how they write their content and how they structure their business.

You can as much as copy which site they link to.

Doing all this will guarantee you are on the right path to a profitable niche.
